hi everyone i got another problem. its to do with my laptop. basically, it
shuts down when i try to connect to the internet. it is dial up internet with
dodo and i'm using it now on my desktop so the internet seems to work fine.
on my laptop when ever i press 'dial', it comes up with a blue screen with
writing on it but it flashes on so fast i can only read 'a problem was
directed..........' (at least i think thats what it says) then it goes black
and restarts. can anyone help me reolve this annoying problem???

XP by default will re-boot when it encounters a STOP error ( 'Blue Screen Of
Death' ). You need to disable this auto re-boot so you can read what the
actual error is.

R-click 'My Computer' | Properties | 'Startup and Recovery' tab.
Un-check 'Automatically Restart'.

Next time it fails, you should have a Blue Screen with error information.
This will give a clue as to what is failing.
Post back with the *exact* message on the blue screen,
someone might beable to figure out what is failing.

I'd guess a problem with the modem driver.
Have you tried getting hold of the latest driver for the modem?

hey ron or anyone else who its trying to help. i did what you asked and it
all worked. i copied down the whole message on the blue screen so that the
actual problem can be determined. I will send out another post named
'determining blue screen of death message' and hopefully you can continue to
help. thanks for getting me this far it is greatly appreciate. i will rate
your response once i figure out how to do it ok. thanks again hope you can
help. from freyja
