shutdown screen gone weird

i have winxp home and set it too look like pro because i hated the
welcome screen. but for some reason my shutdown, logout etc. screens
have gone funny:

Hii wat u are seeing are classic logins u can set back ur themes and looks.
To enable back the welcome screen Go to User Accounts in the control panel
and select Change how Users Log On or Off. In there is an option to use the
welcome screen.

didn't work, it still has gaps at the side of the logo at anything
between 800x600 - 1400x1050.
