Shutdown Problems after MS03-039

Hi, I've just installed the latest security patch and
after doing that, my PC no longer powers down properly.
My hard drive turns off, so do my cd-rom and dvd drives.
My keyboard and mouse hangs. The monitor stays at
the "Computer is shutting down..." screen. There seems to
be no problem in the shut down sequence since there's
none listed in the event log, and windows starts normally
the next time I boot up.

I restored the system to the state before the patch was
applied and it works fine. When I installed the patch
again, same problem.

Any suggestions? I'm using a WinXP SP1 box with all the
latest patches and hotfixes. Including MS03-039, of
course. :-)

isnt this the compaq or hewlett packer issue ?

i believe so go to hewlett packer and add their sec
updtae for the sp1 fix

Interesting. I'm using a clone PC. does that still apply?
