i am having problems turning my pc of after installing
windows xp service pack 2.
the screen frezzes on windows is shuting down
has anyone else had this problem as it has only happened
after installing pack 2
 
Same problem here... installed 4 days ago (took about an
hour over cable modem). Rebooted and it cycles through
the opening screens over and over again. I contacted
Msoft service tech and they said they are "working on the
problem" and hope to have it resolved in a couple of
days. Oy.

One of your background apps is sticking or possibly even drivers.
