Windows XP orig with all the latest updates here on a laptop.

Seems everytime I search for a filename it'll show up in two or three spots.
Certainly these are just duplicates & triplicates of orig installs which
I'll have on the original CD's. for the most part.
Can I safely delete some of these folders that seem to contain duplicate and
unnecessary drivers and such for everything under the sun like ;;
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache

Or point me to web pages that show what can be safely deleted to skinny
down the winXP experience ? especially on my laptop that hdwe cant be
changed on cept maybe hdd's!

thanks , mike

On advise of article, I deleted 300MB from Windows dir.
in WMe

3 mos later I spent 3.5 wks working 24/7 on rare
problem caused by or solution involved a deleted file.

NEVER EVER AGAIN.
Just my 2¢ worth. Larry

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.
