showing formulas in word

When i download my math worksheets, the formulas appear with weird shapes
rather than the symbols, can someone tell how to overcome this problem
 
Sounds like you don't have the font required to view the characters.
You should contact the person who gave you the files and ask them what
font you need to view...or ask them to embed the fonts, if possible.
Tell them to check the font license to see if that is allowed.

Also note that there is effectively no such thing as Installable licensing
any more. Editable is the best you can get. This is a design change made
perhaps for copyright reasons, because some foundries were making their
fonts Installable out of ignorance, or more likely in response to complaints
from users who didn't welcome having fonts tacitly installed on their system
just by opening a document.
