Hi all,

I need to show my screen to someone else so they can see what I am
doing, a bit like an online demo....any free application / service that
would allow this? Thanks

You could use netmeeting.
 
I am sure you ment what I will mention second here but anyway:

1) As mentioned netmetting, windows messenger, msn messenger and windows
live messenger
all have a fuction called "application sharring"
if you choose to share the "desktop" then the other person can see or even
control your desktop.

2) If you want to make a demo like a video recording download windows media
encoder 9
(free). It has an option to record your screen. Good program with lots of
compression options.
