Hi,

Most of my icons have pretty long names. Is there a way I can force the
icons on the desktop to list their entire names, or at least more of their
names, rather than having the names trail off with an elipsis (". . .")?

Thanks,

Jamie

Goto the Control Panel and select Display properties.
Select the Appearance tab.
Now the Advanced button.
Edit both the Icon Spacing Horizontal and Vertical from their default values
to a larger value.

Good reply. You can also change the font size for Icon text (but be
aware that this ripples through to a number of other places!).

You can go to Display - Appearance, click Advanced and in Item select
the vertical and horizontal icon spacings to increase them, and also
select Font and make it smaller. Note that these will also affect the
settings for Explorer/My Computer windows. Also it will not put the
name of an icon on more than two lines, so increasing the vertical space
more than enough for that is not worth it

Hi,

Thanks for your advice. I tried this, and it helped marginally. However, the
elipses are still there even though there is now plenty of space between the
icons. Is there anything else I can try?
