Where is the setting that allows you to see the address
of a hyperlink when you hover the curser over it?
 
the url of the link may be found at the status bar. however, some website
developers can still turn this feature off. to show the status bar, click
view > and check status bar.

The following registry tip enables IE to show URL in status bar:

Click Start | Run | Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
In the right-pane, set the data for Show_URLinStatusBar to "yes"
and

Show_StatusBar = "yes"
