I am running XPpro which was installed over the top of XP home.
The problem is I can't run a simple ad hoc network with any other pc. While
I can see them and even access their shared files they are denied access to
my pc. I have had two IT friends try everything they knew to set up the
network we have had no success. They went into places in windows I didn't
know existed but no joy. Both advised me to reinstall XPpro but it's such a
big thing having to protect data and reinstall all programs that I would
love to find a solution. Maybe you know of a site that can give me a full
breakdown of every possible issue in network access rights so I can fix it
this way.
Finally, if I had to reinstall XP is there any advantage in reformatting as
well or is that just more work for no gain?
TIA
