Hi,
is there a way to safely copy shortcuts from one computer to the next. I
would need so may of modified pathnames in the shortcut as well. is there a
Microsoft utility for this?

thanks,

Hi Erica,
If you want to copy shortcuts, make sure the target path is on the machine
you are copying it to. (eg, shortcut points to C:/Program Files/Random. Make
sure that folder/file exists on the other machine. Unfortunatly Microsoft do
not have a utility to do this unless you use Files And Settings Transfer
Wizard.
Any problems just say,

Shortcuts to what?

If it's shorcuts to files or folders, the shortcuts may not be accurate.

If you mean Interent Shortcuts, they can be copied. Internet Shortcuts are
what appear in the Favorites folder or Favorites menu in Internet Explorer.
Internet Shortcuts can also appear on your Desktop if you right click in a
web page and then click Create Shortcut. Click OK when you get the [A
shorcut to the current page will be placed on your desktop.] message. Or
use File | Send | Shorcut to Desktop in Internet Explorer.
