Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find out a little more about how the Run command actually
works. I can't find and actual .exe associated with it like calc.exe for
example, how does it actually function?

Thanks,

Mike

Shortcut to the Run command = Windows key + R

Beats me, probably from some .dll file. I know it doesn't exist under
explorer.exe.

If you just want to create a shortcut to the Run command then click Start,
right click on Run, and drag it to the Desktop, Quick Launch, etc.

Simply select the Run command on the Start menu, and drag it to the
Quick Launch toolbar.

Drag the "Run" item to the Desktop / Quick Launch bar. It's actually
executes a shell script.

OK, looks like shell32.dll is the one.

Hi Ramesh,

I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.

You cannot drag Run from the Classic Start Menu to anywhere. You have to
have the XP Start Menu in order to drag Run to the Desktop or Quick Launch.
Same for Help and Support, Search, Settings

But you and everybody else probably knew that. ;-)
