Shortcut on desktop for excell

How do I get an excell shortcut on the desktop. Old on is
apparently corrupted. I know it is easy, but I can't seem
to remember.

Easiest way is to find the excel icon under the start menu
and programs and right click on it and hit copy then go
back to desktop and hit paste. If this doesnot work you
can right click on desktop and then select new shortcut
and then fine the excel.exe under msoffice.
