Is there a quick way for me to open the "new message" window using Outlook
2003? I often want to quickly write an e-mail and it's a bit of a pain to
have to open Outlook (from the system tray - a nice feature of OL2K3) and
the click on "new". Is there some kind of keyboard shortcut? Or some add-on
that makes this possible? Cheers.

In outlook 2002 it's Ctl-N

You might try that.....

Thanks - but I'm looking for a quick way to open a compose window when OL is
minimised and I'm in another (or no) application.

Well Ctl-N opens the compose Window in Outlook 2002 when that is minimised
on the taskbar. (Outlook XP doesn't minimise on the systray)
