shlwapi.dll

During a "files and folder" search, I am getting an error
message. "Windows must shut down" the problem appears to
be shlawpi.dll which in folder system 32 is shell
lightweight utility library version 6.0.2800.1400
copyright Microsoft.
What does this direct link do and how can I cure this if
at all possible. I was simply trying to figure out to
install dowloaded icons into my system so I don't have to
browse through all my folders to choose one.

Are you sure that this is Windows XP Embedded problem?
If you are using XP Professional/Home you should ask this question in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
