This is a symptom of a virus (W32/Nishe-A). (Happylow)
Run a virus check, go to Symantec or Mcafee web site and search for the
above virus and how to clean it.
Or try:
1.. Update the virus definitions
2.. Run a full system scan, and delete all files that are detected as
W32.HLLC.Happylow. Also delete the .wal files. Replace deleted files with
clean backup copies, or reinstall them.
3.. Delete the value
Shine %windir%\shine.exe /Trigger
from the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Suggest you run a full scan with an up-to-date AVP - your system is infected
with a virus going by the name of Happyflowers. Please see http://tinyurl.com/s4vh for more details. Seen any pictures of flowers with
happy smiley faces lately?!
I get the same message on my computer when I try to logout or restart my computer. I installed wintasks 5.0 trial version to remove the shine.exe process. I did not try to remove any .wal files yet. I couldn't find any, actually.
Do you have trouble accessing the internet? I have a cable modem and only had it for a couple weeks. At first I was able to get to the internet, but I think this virus took over my connection. It appears that my connection looks good, but I can not access any website at all.
I ended up re-configuring Windows XP. I got everything running good and was able to get an internet connection. I did this from my home, hooked up to my cable modem. I had no problems connecting to the Internet. After I installed everything and verified it had Internet access, I shut it down and turned it off so I could take the computer back to its owner. Once I hooked it back up to the owner's cable modem and turned it on, there was no Internet connection again. I think this may be a problem with the cable modem. We have the same cable company, so I'm not sure why it worked on mine, but will not work on the owner's. Does anyone else think it may be the modem? The cable company told the computer's owner that they see a good connection and that it is the computer that has the problem.
Any ideas? Or can you verify that it most likely is the cable modem? Thanks.
