Im probably gonna be thought of as a bit thick, but I'll ask the question
anyway. the 2 shift keys + ctrl keys on my keboard have stopped working -kids
messing around i think-, does anyone know the reason why. I thought it may be
sticky keys turned on, but that all looks OK, if i hold down the shift key
and type another - for uper case etc, nothing happens

Coffee or soft drinks cause all manner of difficulties. It is easier just
to buy another keyboard.

And keyboards are relatively inexpensive.

understand that, but a few points to bear in mind, firstly there were no
drinks around when this first started happening, secondly the key appears to
be operating, as when it is pressed the characters stop appearing on the
screen, thirdly, the keyboard is a cordless one, so not as inexpensive as a
normal one. think its more of a software issue, as its not just one side of
the keyboard, its both shift keys and both ctrl keys is there a way that
windows is able to 'turn them off'

maybe since the kids used the keyboard like a set of drums, you may simply
need to change the batteries.....

I had a similar problem with sticky keys turned on. I used system restore to
go back a couple of days and that cured the problem. Of course I rebooted to
be sure.

Good luck,
