This may be beyond me, if not other contributors abilities, but here goes, i
need to allocate a set of shift patterns to a group of agents to ensure
miniumum employees at any give 15 min period from 08:00 to 19:00 (call
centre) initially for a week but i will repeat for a 4 week period, to try
and be "Fair" to agents by allocating a selection of shifts with out
repeating a shift in the week (or 4 week period) i have managed to creat a
work book that allows me to manually apply work shifts wich then counts
agents at each interval and total their hours per week. in essence i want to
automate the shift allocation bit. Honestly if the answer is "Buy some
software" i will understand :-)

Hi,

For sure there is a solution with Excel ... it will probably require
some VBA coding.
Your description is way too vague for any of us to give you a hand ...

thanks for your reply carim, at this stage VBA code is beyond me i was just
looking for a point in the right direction, i wouldn't expect to get a fully
working solution, "For Free".

but thanks for taking the time to respond.

Well, to get some training :
Why don't you turn on the macro recorder just before going to the
manual steps you are doing regularly ...
Every action you perform will be automatically coded for you ... it
can be a good starting point ...
