shell to access and open form with parameter

can i run access from another program, open a particular form with a
parameter for the form's data source?
if so, what would syntax be?

This can be done, but it requires at least intermediate Access programming
skills, including some VBA.
If you want to look into it, look at "startup command-line options" (in
particular /cmd) and "Command Function" in the Access Help file.
