Hi all,

I have just installed Office 2007 on an additional computer. Yesterday,
everthing worked fine. Today, I double clicked an Excel document and it is
not displayed in my Excel. The application opens, but the sheet does not open.

If I open Excel seperatly and double click the sheet afterwards everything
works.

The Excel sheet I try to open is a sheet from version 2003. I have also
changed the settings to store all documents to 2003 sheets because we have
not fully migrated yet to 2007 and external partners do not have 2007 yet.

Do you have any idea what I need to change that the sheet is displayed right
way when I double click the sheet in my file strucutre?

Kind regards,

Simon Minder

Did yesterday's response work?

Hi Dave

Sorry, but I don't get it what you mean. Have you sent somebody a similar
response?

Simon

Sorry, I thought you posted a similar question yesterday.

Anyway...

If you do a print preview, can you see your data?

If yes, then try View|Arrange All, tiled

And resize the way you like.

and...

Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)

--- or ---

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.

Maybe one of these will work for you.

Hi Dave

I tried what you sugguested and I still have the same problem. However, the
problem is that Excel starts when I double click the sheet, but the sheet is
afterwards not open in Excel (only Excel is open). If I go back and double
click the file again it opens in Excel correctly.

The second suggestion (reregistering or changing that ignore setting) works a
lot of times in xl2003 and below--I haven't used xl2007 enough to know if it
applies.
