After I installed Windows XP SP2 I get an error that tells
me the file SHDOCVW.DLL entry 233 is missing. I get this
error message 6 times every time I start Symantec Norton
Anti Virus and also when starting MSN Messenger. It I have
also updated through Mivrosoft Update several times and It
tells me I have all the latest files, I use custom install
to get every availible update there is and still get this
problem.

I seems to have several different versions stored on my
computer but the latest file seems to be the one that runs
dated 2004-08-04 09:56 (4:th of August 2004 time 09:56),
the file size is 1449 KB. The old files are located in
uninstall folders and are dated:

2002-08-29 12:41 size 1310 KB
2002-11-01 12:05 size 1307 KB
2004-01-21 17:15 size 1309 KB
2004-08-04 09:56 size 1449 KB (latest version)

In my C-drive \WINNT-folder (and subfolders) I have
versions:

2000-07-21 14:05 size 1079 KB
2001-04-14 09:32 size 1079 KB
2001-12-03 17:39 size 1306 KB

In my C-drive \WINDOWS-folder (and subfolders) I have
versions:

2001-12-03 15:48 size 1305 KB
2002-04-15 15:42 size 1305 KB

To reinstall windows is not an option.

Try the following run command:

Quit all programs that are running.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type regsvr32 SHDOCVW.DLL, and then click OK.
When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

You may have to do this with the following dll files as well:
urlmon.dll
Msjava.dll
Actxprxy.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
Shell32.dll

Hope this helps!

Good luck!!

I have now tried to register all the files you have
specified below but the error remains... :-(

When I start Norton Anti Virus I get an errorbox with the
title "AXWIN Frame: Window: cfgwiz.exe - Ordinal Not
Found" and the error message is "The ordinal 233 could not
be located in the dynamic link library SHDOCVW.dll."

I can only shoose "OK".

This errorbox appears 6 times when i start Norton Anti
Virus and 3 times when I start Microsoft Word 2000 and
Excel...
