I have tried to make many files private or encrypted....I can't do it....the
boxes to check arent highlighted and I'm unabled to put a check on
them...It's like all my important files have been violated by someone or some
program...nothing shows up on any anti-virus program...can some one please
help me or give me any ideas to solve this??? thanks Craig

What window version are you using and are loging as Admin and set Group
plicy on your computer?.
Did you scan for malware as you did for viruses?.
You may have corrupted profile on your system or you are not the Admin on
your computer or there is an application is preventing you from doing so.
If you open a run command and type this:
gpedit.msc click [OK] and see the users there and their privileges on this
machine!.
