Is this possible? I have 2 PCS networked through a router but only have 1
set of speakers which is connected to PC1. I'm also using a KVM box.

Do I need to buy another set of speakers or is there a way to get sound from
PC2?

Thanks,
Newtechie

I think you can connect the speakers to the KVM switch (If possible, My KVM
switch can do it) and then take a computer speaker cable (Green) from 1 PC
to the KVM switch where its connected and do it for the other PC too. Then
it should work. If your KVM switch doesn't have the ability for sound this
won't work and you will have to purchase another set of speakers.
good luck

Unfortunately I do have a speaker input on the KVM so I guess I'll have to
buy some.
Thanks for your reply.

You can't transfer sound from PC2 to PC1. You either need a second set of
speakers or a new KVM switch that suppports them. Alternatively, if the
computers are close enough together you could run a plug from the speaker
out on PC2 to the line in on PC1 and then you could hear the sounds.

Hi Richard,

PC2 has no sound. That's the computer I'm trying to get sound into.

The computers are right next to each other. What kind of plug are you
referring to when you say I could run one into between the computers and how
do I do that?

run a cable from the output of computer #2 speaker jack to the Aux In jack
of computer #1.

Radio Shack or any decent electronic/stereo store should have one - it looks
like a headphone cable except it has stereo male plugs at both ends.

Shtut down both PC's. Run a mini DIN (on each end-small headphone plug) from
the line out (green) fom PC1 to line in on PC2(Aux line). Plug in your
speakers to the line out(green) on PC2. Go into the speaker control panel on
PC2 and click on Options and add in Line in to your volume control panel if
it is not listed. Uncheck the mute from the line in area at bottom. Turn up
the volume for Line in. Power up both computers. You now will be able to
play sounds with both PC's runing through the speakers. Now you can have
fun. Try opening up Media Player and get the same CD playing at the same
time, or you could start them off one second apart and have it sound like a
concert with a delay. This is fun at partys-lol

Hi Richard,

I have an adapter for the speakers. Am I gonna have to have both computers
on to hear sound from PC2?
