Sharing & Securing Files on home network

I hope that I am in the right group with this question. I have a network
setup in my home with three computers, all running windows xp (2 home and 1
Pro). I would like to have a drive from the main computer available to all
users. But there are a couple of folders that have work information that
would be better if the kids could not get into them and move or delete
files. I thought there was a way to put password on folders, but I don't
know how. Any suggestions?

Hi,

There isn't a password option, folders are either shared on the network or
they are not shared. XP security works on a permissions basis, not a
password basis. In a workgroup (as opposed to a domain), this functions to
allow any user account to access shared folders on another networked
machine. If you compress (.zip) a folder, you can set a password to unzip it
later.
