I've got three people using my computer and I want to restrict the programs
they can use. For example, I don't want access to my Quicken program. When
programs are installed, they all show up in the "all Users" folder as
shortcuts which the other users can see. How do I control who can use what.

You can go for "Security by obscurity", by moving the
Quicken icon from "All Users" to your own profile folder.
This will stop the uninitated but it won't stop those who
know about profile folders.

If you run WinXP Prof. and if Quicken resides in an
NTFS drive then you can restrict access to the folder
where Quicken is installed. Right-click the Quicken
folder in "My Computer", select the Security tab, then
restrict the permissions as desired.

AFAIK, under WinXP Home security by obscurity is the only
solution. Maybe other respondents have better ideas.
