If I add my wife's account to Outlook along with mine, will be both receive eachothers email in the one inbox, or can we switch back and forth from her account to mine where she will see only her emails in her account, and I could see only my emails when switched back to my account ?

You can either share the one inbox and use rules to move messages to
separate folders based on whether the messages come in through your account
or hers; or you can (possibly) set up separate mail profiles for yourself
and your wife to keep things totally separate. Not all versions/modes of
Outlook support separate profiles, though. What version of Outlook are you
using, and if 98 or 2000, what mail support mode? If you're not sure, look
at the second line of Help | About Microsoft Outlook -- it should say
"Internet Mail Only" or "Corporate/Workgroup". (Outlook 97, 2002, and 2003
don't have separate modes.)

Also, you cannot switch between profiles while Outlook is running -- if you
are using your profile and your wife wants to use hers, you will have to
close Outlook and restart it, then choose her profile to open.

Sorry, We are using Outlook 2003. So does this mean we have to have separate profiles ? Will we have to actually log into Outlook with separate usernames and passwords ? Where as right now Outlook just opens, I don't have to log in.

If you want to keep your information totally separate from each other, you
will need separate profiles. You don't necessarily have to use a password,
though -- you just set Outlook to prompt for a profile when it starts.
