sharing LAN (broadband) internet connection between two pc's

Hi
I am sharing a LAN (broadband) internet connection between two laptops running windows xp connected through network adapters. My question is: will the LAN server (the one providing the internet connection) be able to see my other laptop as an additional computer on the network. How can I enable/disable this
