I have two computers running winXP Pro and Win XP Home respectively,
they share an ADSL connection through a router and a switch so that
either can access the Internet individually. I am confused as to what I
must now do to my system to be able to share files and perhaps a
printer between the two computers? Is it sufficient to follow the
instructions that are given in XP help or do I need another network card
in each computer and/or more cabling?
I have read that the XP firewall that is enabled on both computers will
stop them communicating ......... any comments?
Any help would be appreciated

You don't need any more equipment... just configuration.
Set both computers to have the same workgroup name. Make
sure file and print sharing is enabled on both machines.
Share the appropriate folders on the machines. You might
need to setup identical user names on the machines for
security access. That should do it!

And, disable ICF, since that will inhibit file sharing. If you want
firewall software (you should), get a more flexible firewall than ICF,
such as one of the ZoneAlarm products (www.ZoneLabs.com).
