sharing emails between users

I have set up two users, myself and my wife. We have one
email address that is common between both of us. The
problem is when I come in as my own user and download
emails, they will show up in my earthlink email. However,
when my wife logs in as a user and goes to email, nothing
shows up because I already downloaded the emails through
my user.
How can we have it so we both can see the emails when we
log in to our individual user names?

Hi Shawn,

See tip from MVP Doug Knox:
Backup and Restore Your OE Mail:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_sharing.htm

Another options is to enable the option "Leave a copy of messages on server"

See www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_oe.htm You'll find the instructions for
sharing the same mail store between users.

Two notes:

1) If your hard drive is NTFS formatted, you'll have to put the mail store
in a location that is accessible to both accounts. Otherwise, you may have
to adjust the permissions on the folder the mail store is located in, so
that both accounts have "full control".

2) You should never have both accounts logged on and running OE at the same
time. This means do NOT use Fast User Switching, if you have a habit of
leaving OE open.

Perhaps a better solution would be for you to ask your ISP for a second
email account (usually free) so that you each have your own email address.
Then set up OE for each login to point to the appropriate account. Then she
will get emails addressed to her and you will get those addressed to you. If
you recieve an email intended for your wife you can even forward it to her.

What was that? Did I hear someone say it makes the divorce easier :-)

The second account will probably be an alias for the same mailbox on the
server and the first one to go there will download everything unless OE's
message rules are used to prevent that.
