Mike I

Hi,

I was hoping somone could point me in the right direction. I have a desktop
with a usb printer attached.

I also have a wireless network setup and want my laptop to be able to print
on the printer without having to move the usb cable to the laptop. Is there
someway to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Sure there is, logon to the desktop. Right-click the printer in the printers
folder, choose properties. Go to the sharing tab and allow it to be shared.

Logon to the laptop, go to the printers folder and use the wizard to add a
printer. Select the network printer option, then use browse to select your
printer from the network neighborhood (obviously, both machines must be
connected at this point).

Keep in mind that both machines must be using the same workgroup name as
well. If you have the firewall enabled on the desktop, then the printer may
not be available.
