Greetings,

I have a very small peer-to-peer network of 2 Windows 2000 Pro machines. One
printer is connected to one of the two machines and I would like to share
that printer. Unfortunately, when I do so by right clicking on the printer
and share it, I cannot install the printer on the second PC as I get "Access
is denied" message.

On the PC with the printer, I have only one account active called "Jack";
the guest account is deactivated.

On the other PC, I have also only one account called "Jeff".

I do not want "Jeff" to access my machine; I only want to allow him to use
my printer.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Jack

Create a user account on the PC with the printer called Jeff. Assign the
same password as on the second PC. Share the printer and assign permissions
to the Jeff account on that PC.

You still need to create an account for Jeff and grant it permission to
use the printer.

You'll need to create user accounts on the local machine, and grant
these account access permissions to the desired resources. The
usernames/passwords of these local accounts must be the same as those
these people use to log into their own machines.
