Sharepoint and PST's

We've been using the DisablePST function within the registry to remove
the ability of users to circumvent our email archiving application
that we have in place. However, now with the advent of Sharepoint, we
cant link calendars directly whilst the registry key is in place.

I've had a look at a number of options, including the setting of size
limits via group policy, but this also impacts OST size so it won't
work that way.

The only other option I have is the removal of the menu items,
restricting the users from picking the options. I have managed to get
the Object ID of 5575 for the File --> New --> Outlook Data File , but
I can't find what i need to do to remove the "New Outlook Data
File..." via the mail applet in control panel, and the replica of this
in the Email Accounts menu within Outlook.

Anybody else struggled to try and restrict PST usage whilst also
allowing for Sharepoint PST usage?

Since DisablePST doesn't disable the opening of existing PST files, would it work to apply it only after the initial SharePoint PST is created? That's the only workaround I can think of (and I haven't actually tried it yet).
