Shared Printer Problem

I have a small office network workgroup with two computers and a
printer (Savin 9945dp) connected directly to the router (it is also
used by other workgroups).

My hard drive died last month on one computer (lap top) and since then
I have not been able to get the laptop to print to the Savin, although
it does print to another printer (HP LaserJet) connected directly to
the second computer.

I have verified that all settings for the printer are identical on both
machines, EXCEPT for the Raw settings port number. On the computer that
prints fine it is 10001, I cannot get the laptop to accept that number.

I am also running PCcillin 2007, but I cannot see any settings there
that might be interfering.

What am I missing?

Thank you so much for your help!

Have you installed the LPR client, Under Add/Remove Windows Components?

Try this, and use an LPR port instead of MS TCP.

I could not see the LPR client under "Add/Remove Windows Components." I
did enable the printer sharing though and then I tried to change to the
LPR port from the MS TCP and got the same error message, "An error
occurred during port configuration. Operation could not be completed."

I also tried to ping the printer and got 4 "request timed out"
messages. Its like something is stopping my machine from seeing the
printer, but I am not sure what.
