I have recently introduced an XP Pro Service pack 2 machine into a Win98
network. Everything is now working OK apart from the file sharing
permisions. I have set the folder options to show all file sharing info. When
I try to set the permisions (right click, sharing and security, security,
add, locations) I cannot see any other PC's on the network, only the PC with
XP pro.

That's how it is in a workgroup -- you can only specify user accounts
that exist on the PC with XP Pro. Create a matching user account
(same user name and password) on XP Pro for each account on other
computers that you want to give permissions. Ron Lowe and I have
written a web page with details:

Great, thanks for that, it worked a treat. However, on some accounts I cannot
see the shared folders from other networked Win98 PC's I have checked all the
security and sharing settings for all the shared folders and they are
identical, but some are visable and some are not.
