Shared Drive resets after Shutdown

I am quite confused.

I have a server with 2 data shares (W:\ and X:\) which are RAID-5 arrays
through a 3ware SATA RAID controller. W: is shared as CH_1, and X: is shared
as CH_2.

When i shut down the computer, drive X is no longer shared. This only
happens during a shutdown process, and rebooting the computer does not affect
the share.

The registry entries still remain under
LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\Shares, however
the drive does not have the shared hand icon on it, nor can it be seen on NET
SHARE from the local computer, nor from any other computer.

I recreate the share after the system is powered on, and the share works
properly until the PC is shut down.

Does anybody have any idea's or suggestions?

Well, I have figured it out. I am using the Chenbro RM-31212 3RU chassis, and
there is a dip-switch for the SATA backplane that allows staggered spinup for
the hard drives to reduce initial loads on the power supply. However, with 12
SATA drives, the RAID controller BIOS would initialize the controller before
all of the drives had spun up.

Windows would then boot, without the X: drive accessable, because the
controller reported that the array had failed. Once the Windows driver for
the raid controller was loaded, those additional drives had fully powered up,
and the array would be accessable again. However, windows had already tried
to share the drive, and was unable to.
