Shared DB access

I created a shared database at work with security and user groups and all that. Everything is working with one exception. Whenever I open the db and modify or input data, other users on their own computers can't access the DB later on. They get the message that the database can't be found. The shortcuts are still correct. I have to open Explorer and move the DB from it's original file to the desktop (or another folder) then back again before anyone can open it. Why is this? Is there a way to fix it? I can't keep doing this everytime. I know it's not a password thing, I can open the Db on my computer under their username and it opens fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

Are you using Access 2000 with an NTFS file system? Are you also compacting the database
(perhaps Compact on Close option is checked)?
