Hello

I want to be able to run outlook at home and at work, but have the
files stored on my USB storage device. I can see where the .pst
file is storred on each computer, but cannot figure out how change the
location of the .pst file in setup.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

You should'nt rely on the integrity of a pst stored in such a way.
In OL File/Open/Data File (wording depends on version) and browse to the pst
You can either, in OL, alter the default pst or use the usb pst as a backup

Here's one way. With Outlook closed on one PC, copy the PST to the USB
device and delete or rename it on the hard drive. Start Outlook. It will
say it can't find the file and give you a browser window where you can
browse to the PST on the USB drive. Select it, click OK, and Outlook will
finish opening.

On the other PC, with Outlook closed, rename the PST on the hard drive and
start Outlook. When it complains, browse to the USB-stored PST as before.

A couple of things to keep in mind: if the USB drive is a flash device (like
a thumb drive), eventually you'll lose the PST. Flash devices can be
written only so many times. They have a working life and when that life
expires, you could lose everything on it. It's not at all like a magnetic
device such as a hard drive. Also, your rules, if you have any, will
probably not transport. Part of the rule contains an identification of the
computer where the rule is created or the PST resides. Since that will
change each time you move the USB device, your rules will not contain
accurate information.
