I want to make several workstations share files with each others. Should I
just make all computers in the same workgroup, or domain? please advise!

Hi,

The same workgroup is sufficient, unless you need the security and control
of a domain. Just have all machines use the same workgroup name, and make
sure each has a different machine name. You may need to disable simple file
sharing (Pro versions only, look under folder options/view tab) and set
sharing permissions on folders you wish to have accessible.

I already set all computers under the same workgroup name, and computers are
able to ping with each others. However, when I clicked "My Network Places"
in desktop, and click "View workgroup computers," but still unable to see
other computers. I couldn't see other computers' names. Again, my goal is
just to share files among all computers.

Please advise. Thanks!

Hi,

Is the ICF enabled? If you are behind a router with NAT, you may need to
disable it on each machine.
