Shaky curser arrow XP pro

My machine works ok for about one or two hours, then the
curser arrow gets real jumpy and hard to control and the
whole works slows to a crawl. The
longer I stay on line the worse it gets. If I restart it
works ok for another hour or so. Any ideas??
