Shaded Form Field - shorter

Hello:

I have some very short fields on the Word form: eg. 2 characters long. When
I apply shades it makes them wider and they don't fit the column width. Can
I make a shaded box shorter or longer then by default? Pls help.

Please disregard this question. I figured it out. When I make maximum legth
eg. 1 it adjusts the size.
