SFC vs Repair install

I am trying to figure out the difference between doing a repair install as
opposed to running SFC. I know after a bit of research that SFC will not
replace/remove any hotfixes I have. I also know that doing a repair install
of Windows can remove my hotfixes.

Other than this, does anyone here know what else might be different? Does
the repair install replace the same files that SFC will scan/fix?

A repair install is way more drastic than using System File Checker.
