Two questions on system file checker, please.

1. Does SFC let me know if it had to fix or replace any files?

2. If SFC did fix or replace files from my XP Home CD, should I run SP-1
again in case the files had been updated on the SP-1 CD?

Thanks . . .

As I recall, there is no acknowledgment.
2. If SFC did fix or replace files from my XP Home CD, should I run SP-1

No. XP knows that SP-1 has been installed, and has updated files at its
disposal.

It should tell you as it goes along

If you have SP1 installed, there will be a ServicePackSourceFiles folder
in Windows, and SFC will look in that first before going to the original
CD

Thanks, Alex. As usual, quite concise and authoritative.
