Sevice Pack 2 before 1?

Can you intall service pack 2 before 1 if you have to do a brand new
install? I assume you can, as you could with previous versions of
windows and service packs.
 
I take it you meant for him to chuck "SP1 CD" in the bin, not his XP CD?

In any case Chris, SP2 is all you need, as service packs are cumulative.
