setup stops at EULA duing winxp home installation - no error msgs

Setup stops at EULA screen - winxp installation problem
(F8 does nothing, "escape key" cancels setup correctly).

I am trying to reinstall winxp home but setup will not go
beyond the EULA acceptance screen after loading
preliminary drivers. It just stops as if the keyboard
does not work! (tested the F8 key by bringing up boot
options with F8 key.)

Does anybody have any ideas? thank you. (aopen,
celleron 2.4, 256MB, yadidada)

Are you familiar with your hardware? Some of the Dell

systems I used to work on would not go through an install
if any peripherals were connected to parallel, serial or
USB ports.
 
If you are using a new style keyboard with the FLock key on your keyboard
(logitec and microsoft keyboards have this now), you'll need to press the
Flock key on your keyboard then press the F8 button.

Failing that put another keyboard in its place
