Hello,
Has anyone ever had a situation where setup will not continue? Here are my
repro steps:
**on a freshly fat32 formatted HD**
1) boot to WinXP Pro CD
2) Notice in status bar the selection to "press F6..", then "press F2..."
3) Status bar dialog stops and after about 20 sec the CD stops spinning.

[expected]
status bar dialog continues to show files being copied for setup

[actual behavior]
setup does not continue

No Peter, I'm not pressing anything. During the first phase of setup,
progress is shown in the status bar. After I'm shown the F6 dialog and the
F2 dialog, the status bar goes blank, the cd-rom stops spinning after about
20 seconds and nothing else happens after that; I have to reboot. When I
boot to the cd, the same thing happens again. I suspect something is wrong
with the IDE controller on the board, but have way to change those settings.

dont know why your pressing F6...unless you are installing 3rd party
drivers.........or F2 unless your trying to access the Automated System recovery
tool. If all you are trying to do is install XP follow this
