Hi all,

Just creating a setup project now, I've discovered how to create a shortcut
icon in the users program files menu, however, I want to create 2 shortcuts,
one to actually launch the program, and one to take them to the directory it
was installed in.

Whenever I set the target property to ApplicationFolder, the shortcut is
underlined in blue and it doesn't let me build unless I change it to the
program files menu - which obviously then just opens up explorer displaying
start menu -> all programs etc

Any info would be appreciated - just thought this would be a nice touch as
my readme.txt file suggests they take a look at a specific directory within
the install directory.

Sorry all,

I read the error reported by the build and whilst at first I didn't get it,
I changed the 'Always Create' option it mentioned and it worked a
treat....yay...I've had such a successful evening I think its best to stop
now - it'll only lead to disappointment.

Night night...

...
LOL... one step at a time Rob :-)

Indeed! hehe, I was able to hold my own with vanilla ASP, then at work we
moved to .Net so getting a handle on things again has been, well,
frustrating at times, interesting at others, but then now starting to look
at windows applications as well its like a lot of the things I can do with
the web I can either not do, or are done slightly different (see my other
thread entitled "Path to file?"), but I think I'm getting their slowly...

It's an odd feeling to be back at the start again after all these years,
especially when you go off in a direction where you have things working,
then think - hmmm....I can make this better if I add some classes and do
this and that, then you find it doesn't work - you spend ages on it finally
getting there and wonder why you bothered when you had it working in the
first place! :o)

Anyway...one step at a time indeed :o)

Regards

Rob
