i'm having trouble upgrading xp home edition to xp
professional. here's the scenario.
a failure occured during the initial upgrade causing
setup to abort.
now i have a partially upgraded windows xp pro, but can't
seem to continue the installation.
enough got installed so that the system thinks it's
running xp-pro [i.e. banners, registration reminder,
etc.], but there are files missing, as evidenced by the
messages i get during os load.
if i try to run setup again from the upgrade cd, the
system hangs.
if i try to boot from the cd,and then start the setup
program, the system hangs.
if i try to review/remove installed components through
control panel, i get the following message:
cannot fine file netoc.inf
actual error message is ox2 at line 2011777033
any thoughts in getting around this problem?
thanks
