Hi,
Possibly somebody has been met with the same problem:
I have ASUS P4C800E Deluxe and P4P800 Deluxe Motherboards
with Intel P4 2.6C CPU and 2xPC3200 512MB Hynix DDR.
When trying to install XP Pro,it gets started until screen
where you have to pres Enter for Installation, R for Repair
or F3 for Quit, after which it has to ask you to agree with
License Agreement.
So, if I put HDD on Primary master IDE and if something
(win98, Win ME, Win 2K or Win 2003 Server) was installed
previousely on this drive, before getting to this selection
screen, system gives Blue screen with some warnings and
hangs.
If HDD is brand new, I can install XP once, but trying to
reinstall it gives the same failure, while if I try to
install Win 2K or Win 2003 Server, I can go forward, delete
existing partitions, modify, define new partitions and
install OS without any problems, even more, when I changed
motherboard, CPU and RAM on PC with 2003 Server running, it
halted, but successfully repaired itself and works
perfectly even today, but doing so on PC with XP, made me
to change boot HDD with Brand new one.
So, if my system with XP crashes (and its usual with
Microsoft OS families
), I'll have to get new HDDs each
time, Perfect saving....
I also tried to put SCSI card and installation on SCSI HDD
and had no problem with installation even if some other OS
was on that HDD (freely accessed disc, removed existing
partition and installed XP).
Can anybody help me with this?
Or do I have to ask ASUSTek for Support?
Thanks in advance
