Setup Boxes Are Chopped Off---Various Apps

Ever since installing XP, I've often encountered truncated setup boxes when installing (or later changing settings on) various programs. The right side and bottom are cut off, as if it needs word-wrap. Sometimes I've managed to click on the very tip of a button to proceed.

However, I now can't install Norton AV 2004 (the download or the CD), because I can't get to the button to indicate that I accept the terms! I
can't resize the boxes. My display adapter is Nividia Riva TNT2 64. I tried turning off "write combining" (no change), and I'm way beyond my
knowledge level.

Norton couldn't help; suggested I change my monitor resolution. (Nope, not the problem.) Techs at the local BestBuy told me they've never heard of the problem; suggested I see whether XP accessibility settings were changed to a magnifier option. (None that I can tell, and the display isn't magnified.) I know I can't be the only person with this problem; I even know someone else who's stumped. I definitely would welcome help!

Thanks--sounded promising. However, I could only toggle between "back" and
"cancel." "Next" is grayed out until I can accept/not accept the legal
text -- inside the dialogue box--and I can't get to it. I've scrolled down
and moved the cursor to get to what probably is the bottom of the text (it's
out of view) and have tried to blindly hit a check box by moving a space at
a time horizontally, clicking Enter as I go. Nothing.

I'm wondering whether itis due to NVIDIA nView, but am totally confused by
the settings and may have opted out of all. Don't know whether I can
uninstall it without adding to my problems. (No help at their site;
referred to AOpen as motherboard mfr; nothing I could find there but more
products and tech talk.) Just tried downloading yet another driver update
for NVIDIA XP. No change. (As if you couldn't tell, I'm not a gamer, so
the terms are foreign.)

I don't think it's due to nVidia -- it seems to be a problem when using
large text or other non-default settings. You could try setting a
smaller text size or change your Windows scheme. I don't recall exactly.

Hmmm, I'm using normal font size but I could try a different scheme/theme.
Have to go to my "day job." Will try tonight. Thanks! -BJ

Kent, did a quick change to XP theme. No effect that I can see. -BJ
