Setting word defaults

I use the caption corss refernce feature very often. However, the default for cross reference is to include the Figure and the Figure number. I NEVER want to do that and I have to be careful to specify that I just want the Figure number only, each time. How can I set the default for cross reference to be number only?
 
The easiest way is to manually bookmark the number of the figure you
want to reference and then insert a cross-reference to the text of
that bookmark.
